Success for Company House Records at 2009 ECMAs The 2009 ECMAs in Corner Brook, NFLD were a successful weekend for Company House President Darren Gallop and artist The Tom Fun Orchestra. Darren was the ECMA award winner for Manager of the Year and Tom Fun took home the ECMA for CBC Galaxie Rising Star of the Year. We are very proud to be recognized for these accomplishments and thank everyone for their continued support!
Tom Fun Starts Cross-Canada Tour This weekend The Tom Fun Orchestra will embark on their first cross Canada tour. The dates start Saturday in Halifax, hop across the country to BC and end in Newfoundland at this year's ECMA's in Corner Brook. The band will also have Carmen Townsend as an opener on select dates across the country. Please check the dates to your right to see when and where the band is coming out to your town!
7 ECMA Nods for Company House Records and The Tom Fun Orchestra Congratulations are in order for Company House Records' The Tom Fun Orchestra. The band was successful in achieving three East Coast Music Award nominations for the 2009 awards banquet in Cornerbrook, NL. Nominations include CBC Galaxie Rising Star Recording of the Year, Star Style Creative Works Video of the Year for Watchmaker and Newcap Radio Alternative Recording of the Year.We are also happy to congratulate Company House Records President Darren Gallop on two industry award nominations for Industry Professional of the Year and Manager of the Year. Company House Records was also successful in being nominated in two industry award catagories including Independant Company of the Year and Record Company/Distributor/Independant Label of the Year. Good luck to all other nominees and we'll see you in Cornerbrook! Tom Fun Orchestra Wins at Nova Scotia Music Week 2008 Nova Scotia Music Week was very successful for The Tom Fun Orchestra. The band came home with two honors from the weekend, including the award for Galaxie Rising Star of the Year and Aliant Entertainer of the Year. Thank you to Music Nova Scotia, The Holiday Inn Express in Stellarton for their hospitality, everyone who voted and everyone who came out to the showcases in New Glasgow. It was so much fun!
Tom Fun Orchestra and Slowcoaster nominated for 2008 Nova Scotia Music Week Awards This year, two of Company House Records bands, have been fortunate enough to receive nominations for the 2008 Nova Scotia Music Week awards. The Tom Fun Orchestra have been recognized with four nominations including Aliant Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, Group Recording of the Year and New Artist/Group Recording of the Year. Also, Slowcoaster have received a nomination for Group Recording of the Year. We wish the best of luck to the bands, who will be performing at this years Nova Scotia Music Week conference. Company House Fall 2008 ShowsCarmen Townsend Debut Recording After two weeks of being on the road, we've just returned from recording Carmen Townsends debut record. Carmen and her band made their first appearance at The Carriage House Studio's in Stamford, CT. The band worked with producers Warren Bruleigh and Gordon Gano who also produced The Tom Fun Orchestra's debut album. The results of the recording are amazing and keep your ears peeled for a sneak peek in the weeks to come. Thanks again to Johnny and Brendan at The Carriage House and also to Meaghanne MacLean our chef while on the road.
The Tom Fun Orchestra at Osheaga The Tom Fun Orchestra kicked of August with a short jaunt to Montreal to play The Osheaga Music Festival. On the way the band stopped through New Glasgow for the Riverfront Jubilee, then to The Capital in Fredericton. Thanks to everyone who made it to the shows! Logo Contest Winner Congratulations to Kim Vallis for her winning submission to the Company House Records logo contest. We had lots of great enteries and it was a very hard choice trying to pick a winner. We are still currently working with Kim to tailor the final logo based on the variations in her submission. Thank you to everyone for submitting and being part of Company House history!
Company House Records Logo Contest Company House Records are looking for a new logo! As a result, we are holding a contest to help us find the best logo that suits our needs as a company. There are only a few stipulations. We are looking for something with an organic feel and not too "high tech". Also, we are looking for something that will look good used in large and small formats but is still recognizable when very small, for example used on the back of a CD.Entries can be emailed to contests@companyhouse.ca at a maximum of 1MB in .JPEG format. Deadline is July 31, 2008. Winner will be announced August 1st, 2008. Prize will be a Company House Records Package including a LIFETIME pass to Company House Records artists' shows, T-shirts, CDs and other surprises. |
